Behind the Data

America’s Exceptional Labor Force
Foreign-Born Unemployment to Native-Born Unemployment
The United States’ relatively low ratio shows that immigrants assimilate into the workforce much better than similarly developed countries. We are the only country where the unemployment rate among the foreign-born population is lower than the native-born. When immigrants come to America, they come to work.
G7 Nations' Tax Revenue
America also has had historically light taxes. The ratio of combined state, local, and federal tax to GDP in the United States is 26%, while the figure is 45% in France.
