What is the Advanced Placement (AP)?
“Advanced Placement” (AP) is a program of college-level courses offered at many high schools. Courses are available in many subject areas, including English, history, humanities, languages, math, psychology and science. The focus is not on memorizing facts and figures, but on solving problems and learning to write effectively.
2. What do schools need to include AP classes into their curriculum?
A school must participate in the AP Course Audit process. The AP Course Audit was created at the request of College Board members who sought a means for College Board to provide clear guidelines on curricular and resource requirements, and to help clearly interpret courses labeled “AP” on students’ transcripts.
