How does the Electoral College protect minority rights better than a majority vote?

It does not allow special interest go dominate the political field. Which because of money or numbers cause leave them behind, more than it does now.

The electorate has gone against the popular vote several times & has voted their own platform with alliance to lobbyists. Let local governments deal with issues concerning locals limit federal government

IMO, gerrymandering and big money has more of an impact overall in the elections.
