Lieutenant Colonel Alphanso “Fonz” Adams, representing the U.S. Air Force, is a National Security Affairs Fellow for the academic year 2023-2024 at the Hoover Institution.
Lieutenant Colonel Adams is a career Cyberspace Operations Officer with experience in network operations and cybersecurity both in-garrison and deployed. He has served in various communications and cyberspace squadrons, Air Force Special Operations Command, the Department of the Air Force Rapid Capability Office, and the Headquarters, Joint Task Force-Bravo. Fonz was the Military Liaison for Senator Bill Nelson of Florida during the 115th Congress and, prior to attending the Hoover Institution, was the Commander of the Air Force’s busiest Network Operations Squadron.
Lieutenant Colonel Adams graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems. He holds a Master of Science in Information Technology from the University of Maryland Global Campus, a Master of Philosophy in Military Strategy from Air University, and a Certificate of Legislative Studies from the Government Affairs Institute at Georgetown University.
